Dr Amanda McVitty

Amanda McVitty is a Lecturer in History at Massey University. Her research focuses on intersections of gender, law, and political culture in Britain and France over the thirteenth to sixteenth-centuries, and on medievalism in contemporary politics and popular culture. She is currently working on a Royal Society of New Zealand Marsden Fund project that examines masculinity, authority, and the evolution of English legal culture c.1300–1600. Amanda has previously served on the ANZAMEMS committee as the Communications Officer (2018–2020) and before that, as the New Zealand postgraduate representative.
Amanda McVitty was re-elected to the ANZAMEMS committee in 2021.
